About the Company

V&R Associates is a family-owned accounting firm built on nearly three decades of experience, trust, and long-term client relationships.

Founded in 1996 by Viviane and Robert Hagopian, the firm was established with a clear vision: to provide personalized, high-quality accounting services tailored to the unique needs of each client. Prior to launching the firm, Viviane built a strong foundation in corporate accounting, holding roles at established companies including Sebastian International, Sweet Factory, and McDonald’s. She brought that expertise into her own practice with the goal of offering a more flexible, client-focused alternative to traditional firms.

From the beginning, V&R Associates has operated on the belief that no two businesses are alike—and their financial strategies shouldn’t be either. This commitment to tailored service remains a defining principle of the firm and a key reason for its long-standing client relationships.

In 2019, the next generation joined the firm as Thalia Hagopian came on board full-time, bringing a modern perspective and a focus on growth and innovation. In 2024, V&R Associates officially became incorporated under the ownership of Viviane and Thalia Hagopian, continuing its legacy as a family-led firm.

Today, the firm is led by this mother-daughter team, combining decades of experience with a forward-thinking approach to accounting and advisory services.

Viviane Hagopian -OwneR, Lead Advisor

Viviane Hagopian is our Owner and Lead Tax Advisor. She brings decades of experience in accounting and tax strategy. With a career spanning both corporate and private practice, she has developed deep expertise in helping individuals and businesses navigate complex financial and tax matters with clarity and confidence.

Known for her detail-oriented approach and commitment to client service, Viviane has built long-standing relationships by providing thoughtful, reliable guidance tailored to each client’s unique situation. Her work is rooted in the belief that strong financial management creates not only stability, but peace of mind.

Outside of the firm, Viviane is actively involved in her community, volunteering with local nonprofit organizations in fundraising, event planning, and financial oversight. In her free time, she enjoys reading and is a devoted fan of dark chocolate—especially during tax season.

Thalia Hagopian -Co-Owner, Chief Operating officer

Thalia Hagopian is our Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer. She leads the firm’s operations, client experience, and strategic growth initiatives. She holds an MBA with a specialization in Management and brings a strong background in business strategy, marketing, and organizational development.

Thalia focuses on building efficient systems, enhancing client relationships, and driving the firm’s continued evolution to better serve growing businesses. She plays a key role in aligning internal operations with the firm’s long-term vision, ensuring clients receive both high-quality service and a seamless experience.

She is especially passionate about developing lasting client relationships and helping business owners feel supported as they navigate growth.

Outside of the firm, Thalia is actively involved in her community, volunteering with local nonprofit organizations through social media management and event coordination, including serving as a volunteer wedding coordinator.

Lilit Naghdalyan -Accountant, Lead Bookkeeper

Lilit Naghdalyan is our Accountant and Lead Bookkeeper, bringing a strong foundation in accounting and auditing along with her ACCA qualification. Her expertise reflects a high standard of technical knowledge and a commitment to excellence in financial reporting and compliance.

Lilit is known for her analytical approach and exceptional attention to detail, with a particular strength in identifying patterns, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy across client financials. Her work plays a critical role in delivering reliable, well-structured financial information that clients can confidently rely on for decision-making.

Outside of the firm, Lilit is actively engaged in her community through volunteer teaching with a local nonprofit organization. She is also a devoted mother of two and values family, balance, and meaningful commitments.

Bowie Chau -Tax Preparer

Bowie Chau is one of our detail-oriented tax professional with over 10 years of experience helping individuals and businesses navigate complex tax matters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State University, providing a solid foundation for his work in tax preparation and financial reporting.

Bowie holds multiple professional credentials, including QuickBooks ProAdvisor, certification through the California Tax Education Council, and participation in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program. He is currently pursuing his Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, one of the highest credentials awarded by the IRS to federally authorized tax practitioners.

Known for his reliability, precision, and strong attention to detail, Bowie is committed to delivering accurate, actionable guidance that clients can trust. Outside of the firm, he enjoys spending time with his son.

JACK STONE -Accounts Receivable Manager

Jack Stone is our Accounts Receivable Manager, overseeing billing, invoices, and open balances. He is known for his friendly approach, prompt communication, and dedication to ensuring the invoicing process is smooth, accurate, and stress-free for clients.

Jack holds a Master’s degree and brings a strong analytical and organizational skill set to his role. Outside of the firm, he enjoys hiking by the beach and experimenting with new coffee blends.
