About the Company

V&R Associates is a family owned business. The founders were Viviane and Robert Hagopian who established the company in 1996.

Viviane is the principal accountant. Prior to launching her company, she had previously worked in the corporate industry. To name a few, she had various accounting positions at Sebastian International, the Sweet Factory, and McDonalds.

When she moved to San Diego with her spouse Robert, 25+ years ago, she wanted to launch her own accounting firm while beginning a family. Robert helped to start the firm.

The business was built on the idea of providing tailored and flexible services to fit the needs of each client -because no clients are the same. This philosophy has stayed throughout the years and serves as our main market distinguisher to why our clients are so loyal.

In 2019, Viviane’s daughter Thalia joined the business full-time to further company growth.

On January 1st, 2024 V&R Associates became incorporated; full owners: Viviane and Thalia Hagopian.

To this day, the company is primarily led by mother and daughter; remaining within the family roots.

Meet Our Trusted Team

Viviane Hagopian -Owner

Viviane is our owner and lead tax preparer. Accounting has been her specialty her entire life and helping people achieve peace of mind is her passion. In her free time, Viviane volunteers at a local non-profit for fundraising/event planning and auditing. She loves to read books and her favorite food is dark chocolate -especially during tax season.

Thalia Hagopian -Co-Owner

Thalia is our co-owner and Chief Operations Officer. She manages all administrative functions and company growth strategies. Her background is in marketing and business management. Her favorite part about working with the family business is meeting new clients and maintaining relationships. In her free time, she volunteers at a local non-profit by managing their social media channels and is a volunteer wedding coordinator.

Lilit Naghdalyan -Accountant, Lead Bookkeeper

Lilit is our lead bookkeeper. Her background is in accounting and auditing. She is superb at finding patterns and resolving issues to ensure the highest quality of work. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at a local non-profit as a teacher and spending time with her family. Her hands are full with 2 little children, but Lilit always finds time for the important things in life.

Bowie Chau -Tax Preparer

Bowie is one of our excellent and detail oriented tax professional with 10+ years of experience in the field. His educational background includes his bachelor's in accounting from San Diego State University along with various certifications as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, certified tax preparer from the California Tax Education Council and part of the Annual Filing Season Program with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Bowie is trustworthy and always looking to improve himself as he is in the process of receiving his Enrolled Agent (EA) tax certification; a respected title as a federally authorized tax practitioner --the highest IRS credential. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his son. 

JACK STONE -Accounts Receivable Manager

Jack is our accounts receivable manager. He manages our billing, invoices and open balances. He is known for his friendly approach, prompt communication, and dedication to make the invoicing process as smooth and stress free as possible. In his free time, he enjoys hiking by the beach and experimenting with new coffee blends.
